The objective of Progressive Youth Forum is to provide joint platform to rural and urban youth so that they can play their role and utilize their potential competencies for building welfare, progressive and social democratic Pakistan. According to the census reports under 25 year persons constitute 63% of Pakistan and these youth have to play vital role for progressive and social democratic Pakistan, however youth needs to be prepared for their role in future.
Pakistan is facing social, political and economic crisis since 63 years from very beginning of its independence. Such crisis has further produced poverty, hunger, illiteracy, disease and terrorism. This all is contributing to increase the vulnerability of Pakistani youth. Today, Pakistani youth is actually in crisis of their identity. Therefore it is responsibility of cognisant and conscious youth to play their role and provide leadership to common youth for peaceful and democratic Pakistan through strengthening the democratic institutions and social democracy in Pakistan.
PYF further emphasize in establishing links with left wing political parties and civil society which struggles for same ideology. Its solid intervention enhances the leadership quality of youth in decision making processes and brings political activism among them. PYF believes that it is the mouth piece of nation who raise their voices against the violation of civil and political rights (particularly, military dictatorship) in Pakistan and promote the democracy including all pro-people social and political movements.
The percentage of youth in Pakistan deserves to formulate youth friendly policies at government and non government level in Pakistan. Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) is a joint platform for youth to provide them alternate policies. PYF is also a platform to monitor government policies not only for youth but its social, cultural, economic policies aiming for peace and progress in Pakistan. This aims to lead our youth for social democracy for peaceful, progressive and terrorism free Pakistan.
In above context the specific objectives of Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) are as follows;
• Making Pakistani society free from all kinds of discrimination that include ethnic, religious and caste
• Developing and strengthening leadership capabilities among youth to play their role for peace and
progress in Pakistan
• Advocating for educational curriculum that include modern scientific researches and social democratic values
• Design and organize co-curriculum activities aiming to inspire youth for healthy and productive
tendencies and ideas
• Mobilize youth for recognition of education as basic right and state obligation towards youth of Pakistan
• Campaign for internal peace in Pakistan to ensure peace and security of all citizens without any
discrimination as well as to coordinate and learn from international and regional peace initiatives
• Monitor proper implementation policies aiming to bring peace and progress in Pakistan as well to
recommend alternate policies to government
